Why choose an independent therapist?NHS and Independent therapists have the same basic training and qualifications. Independent therapists can sometimes offer appointments earlier as many do not operate waiting lists. An independent therapist is often able to offer greater flexibility in terms of frequency of appointments and appointment times in order to fit in with family needs. Where will the client be seen?Carole has a consulting room in Frodsham. How often will the client be seen?Assessment might take one or more sessions. Frequency of therapy will depend upon client's need, nature of difficulty, response to therapy and level of support. If regular therapy is recommended, this could take the form of weekly sessions for a block of between 7 to 10 sessions. How can we ensure the best possible outcome from therapy?Whilst it is very difficult to predict how your child will respond to therapy, they will make most progress if you can support therapy appointments with homework as recommended by Carole. This will usually entail 5 to 10 minutes three times per week. How will you assess my 2 year old?A child of this age will be unable to cope with formal assessment. Assessment will comprise observation, discussion and informal assessment through play. My child's nursery/school are worried - will you contact them?Yes. It is very important that education staff understand the nature of your child's difficulties. Any other queries? Please contact Carole - see "Contact" page |
